Lethwei is the “sibling” of Muay thai, a boxing variety of South-Eastern Asia. It is mostly popular in Burma (Myanmar). Conceptually, Lethwei is similar to Muay thai, but there is one radical difference: the head strikes are permitted. It can be described as a bolder and more extreme style. Techniques are stronger and slower that in other types of South-Eastern Asian boxing, likely due to a strong Indian influence.
