MODERN KARATE

Kyokushin

Japan 1950
Kyokushin - «society of supreme truth», or kekusin - «supreme truth». Kyokushin is considered to be one of the most difficult and aggressive karate types. Kyokushin style is created as opposed to the principle “no-touch karate”. Sportive combats (kumite) are carried out in full touch with no protective equipment (helmets, gloves, protectors). Only hand strikes to the head are prohibited. Full-contact combats are full of high leg strikes and powerful hand strikes.
