Suio-ryu Iai Kenpo - 水鷗流 居合 剣法 or just Suio-ryu, «seagull style» is an ancient Iaido school, a classical martial art of Japan. The school includes the following systems: Goe (五陽) — offensive techniques from seiza (5 kata); Goin (五陰) — defensive techniques from seiza (5 kata); Tati-iai (立居合) — technique from standing position (9 kata); Kuyo (九曜) — advanced techniques from seiza (9 kata); Kumi-iai ( 組居合) — Paired standing techniques (9 kata); Kage-waza (影技) — «shadow techniques» - that offer counters and answers to the techniques and their variables in the Kuyo, Tachi-iai and Kumi-iai kata-sets (27 kata in total); Yami (闇) — a set of both offensive and defensive techniques in complete darkness.
