Kickboxing

Kickboxing is subdivided into the American kickboxing (full contact, full-contact with low-kick, semi-contact, light-contact, kick-light), the Japanese kickboxing (the K-1 form), solo compositions (musical forms). Leg strikes are impulsive, explosive, and ballistic, with linear or curvy trajectories, reciprocating movements of a kickboxer's legs that closely reaches the opponent's body by the inner or outer part of a foot. Basics of kickboxing are similar to ones of classical boxing: stances, movements, defenses and hand punches are similar, but kickboxing is based on leg strikes.
