Boxing (from the word box meaning a case, a hedged place) is a contact sport where athletes punches at each other with fists in special gloves. A stance is the most convenient body posture for striking or defensing.
4 basic punches: jab, cross, hook and uppercut.
Defense – slipping, bobbing, blocking, cover-up, pulling away, clinching, footwork.
A defensive stance is the optimal posture of a boxer's body that enables a reliable defense and successful attacks.
